BIOS Updates for GIGABYTE's AMD EPYC "Rome" Server Systems to Fix PCIe Overwrite Error
Firmware Issue (Non-Security Related): "Rome" Erratum #1185
Issue: PCIe Receive Buffer Location May be Incorrectly Overwritten
Affected Systems: GIGABYTE 2nd Generation AMD EPYC "Rome" Server Systems / GIGABYTE 1st Generation AMD EPYC "Naples" Systems Enabled for "Rome" Drop-In (Rev. A00)
Recommended Fix: Update to New BIOS with AGESA 1.0.0.4
November 25th 2019 – AMD has discovered a firmware issue in their 2nd Generation AMD EPYC 7002 Series "Rome" Processors. Under a highly specific and detailed set of internal timing conditions, a PCIe receive buffer SRAM location in the host controller may be incorrectly overwritten. This error may result in unpredictable system behavior and possible logging of uncorrectable parity error(s) in MCA_STATUS_NBIO due to incorrect data in PCIe buffer.
To fix this issue, AMD has issued a new AGESA 1.0.0.4. This new AGESA version has been incorporated into a new GIGABYTE BIOS which has already been published on the product pages of each affected product on our official website. GIGABTYE recommends customers to update their BIOS to the new version to resolve this issue.
