Intel® Active Management Technology (Intel® AMT)

Using built-in platform capabilities and popular third-party management and security applications, Intel® Active Management Technology(Intel® AMT) allows IT to better Discover, Heal, and Protect their networked computing assets.

Discover: Intel® AMT stores hardware & software information in non-volatile memory. With built-in manageability, Intel® AMT allows IT to discover the assets, even while PCs are powered off. With Intel® AMT, remote consoles do not rely on local software agents, helping to avoid accidental data loss.

Heal: Intel® AMT's built-in manageability provides out-of-band management capabilities to allow IT to remotely heal systems after OS failures. Alerting & event logging help IT detect problems quickly to reduce downtime.

Protect: Intel® AMT featuring System Defense capability protects your network from threats at the source by proactively blocking incoming threats, reactively containing infected clients before they impact the network, and proactively alerting IT when critical software agents are removed. Intel® AMT also helps to protect your network by making it easier to keep software and virus protection consistent and up-to-date across the enterprise.

Intel® Virtualization Technology
Intel® Virtualization Technology will allow a platform to run multiple operating systems and applications in independent partitions. With virtualization, one computer system can function as multiple "virtual" systems. With processor and I/O enhancements to Intel's various platforms, Intel® Virtualization Technology can improve the performance and robustness of today's software-only virtual machine solutions.

Within the digital office and enterprise, for example, businesses will be able to isolate a portion of a managed PC to perform system upgrades and maintenance without interrupting the end-user. IT managers could also create one desktop PC build that can function independently as both a business and personal system, keeping software loads and virus attacks separate, or one that runs different operating systems and software for different or legacy tasks. Multiple servers can be combined into one system, running different applications and operating systems, providing advantages for IT tasks such as server consolidation, legacy migration and security.

Intel® Stable Image Platform Program (Intel® SIPP)
Intel® SIPP was designed to help address the need for hardware platforms that support a stable image. Intel® SIPP aligns and stabilizes key Intel® platform components to enable a more predictable annual transition from one generation of technology to the next. Intel® SIPP enhances software stability by ensuring no changes to key platform components or drivers for at least 15 months from introduction. This allows for a 3-month qualification period and a 12-month deployment cycle.

Intel® Matrix Storage Technology
Intel® Matrix Storage Technology seamlessly protects against data loss from hard drive failure with RAID levels 0, 1, 5, and 10 and enables improved storage performance through high-speed efficient storage interfaces. External SATA capabilities provide the flexibility to add an external hard drive for RAID 1 data mirroring capability.
