First to Offer the Next Evolution in HD Technology
Dual
Thunderbolt™ Ports
Introducing 4K Resolution: The Next Evolution in HD Technology
HD displays have been the de-facto standard for TVs and
displays for some time now, with 1200 pixel resolution screens becoming
the norm for most consumers. 4K resolution is the next technological
milestone in high-definition content delivery, utilizing approximately
4,000 pixels on the vertical axis (more than four times today’s standard
HD pixel density) for unrivalled visual clarity and stunning realism.
Exclusive 4K Resolution Support from GIGABYTE Dual Thunderbolt™ Motherboards
GIGABYTE is currently the only vendor offering Dual
Thunderbolt™ port motherboards from the time that the new high-speed
data technology was released to the retail motherboard market. As such,
these motherboards are also the first to offer native support for 4K
resolution displays using Intel™ processor graphics, without requiring a
high-end discrete GPU solution.
Each Thunderbolt™ port complies with the
DisplayPort 1.1 standard (with support for 2K resolutions from each
port), providing a combined throughput of up to 4K for the ultimate in
display future-proofing.
Support for Intel® Collage Display Technology With Intel® Collage display technology, GIGABYTE is able to offer 4K resolution support using standard HD displays. Intel® Collage display technology uses the Dual Thunderbolt™ ports which are
then split using a readily available DisplayPort splitter adapter,
creating a total of four digital streams that can stream an incredible
combined Ultra HD resolution of 3840 x 2400 pixels.
Using the Intel® processor graphics control
panel, users can select a choice of horizontal or vertical modes, with
7680 x 1200 and 3840 x 2400 pixel resolutions respectively. Horizontal
mode offers an extended desktop experience ideal for commercial
applications including Financial, Stock Market, Medical and
Transportation, while vertical mode offers a simple way to enjoy 4K
Ultra HD content using standard HD displays.
