Q: Before I upgrade the system to Windows 10, what should I notice?

A: Please backup system data before Windows 10 upgrade.
Check upgrade instruction and clean install instruction before Windows 10 upgrade.
Check GIGABYE Windows 10 product list to see if your system is certified by GIGABYE to support Windows 10.
Check there’s enough space in C: for Windows 10 OS, at least 20GB is needed for Windows 10 64bit.



Q: What should I do after finishing Windows 10 upgrade?

A: Please go to Windows update and GIGABYE product page to update Windows 10 drivers and GIGABYE Utilities, which can optimize your Windows 10 experience.



Q: How can I backup my system data?

A: You could use GIGABYTE Smart USB Backup to backup system data.

Q: How can I uninstall Windows 10 and go back to my older OS version?

A: You can use GIGABYTE Smart USB Backup to go back, and within the first 31 days of installation, you can go back directly from Windows 10 settings.

GIGABYTE Smart USB Backup
  • Please press F12 on starting the system when you need to restore the system.
  • Select “boot from recovery USB disk” and the system will be restored.
  • The time needed for restore will be around 30 minutes. (time needed may vary by USB disk model)


Windows 10 Settings
  • Within the first 31 days of installation, you can use “go back to Windows 7/8.1” function by following the steps:
    Click start button -> Settings -> Update and Security -> Recovery -> “Go back to Windows 8.1” or “Go back to Windows 7”-> Get started
  • After this step, the PC will reboot to complete the Go back. After it's complete, you may need to reinstall apps if they are not functioning properly.
  • Please note that this function can only be execute within the first 31 days of installation.



Q: My device is not listed on GIGABYE product list, but still receives Windows 10 upgrade notice from Microsoft. Can I upgrade the system to Windows 10?

A: The models listed on GIGABYE product list are those GIGABYE tested and certified. For the rest of the models, you can still upgrade to Windows 10, but please aware that there might be some compatibility issues.



Q: After Windows 10 upgrade installation, why can’t I do system recovery by pressing F9?

A: Windows 10 do not support F9. Please go to Windows 10 settings and check Update & Recovery.
